What To Expect
Everyone needs help sometimes and there is nothing wrong with asking for help. On this page I explain what to expect and the processes within the different types of therapy I practice. I see my therapeutic work as a shared relationship which starts with a free 30 minute consultation.
I offer a free, no obligation 30 minute session using Zoom or over the telephone to discuss my clients situation and needs. We explore what is being experienced and how the best way is to overcome these issues.
I offer ongoing individual sessions for clients with counselling and hypnotherapy, as well as my two packages of 6 or 12 weeks.
As the work begins I encourage my clients to share their story and life experiences which allows a period of contemplation for my client and expression of their feelings, as well as my own assessment of their clinical needs. Together we work towards my client finding a way forward feeling supported to explore their own personal goals and plans for the future. I work towards the feeling that we are always enough and encourage personal self care. During the programme my clients are supported by email and a mutually planned ending is then in sight.
I work with a number of different therapy techniques and often use them in conjunction with one another to help my clients. I have given a brief description of what each type of therapy is below and what can be expected in a session.
I provide a safe confidential space in which which is confidential and non judgemental, to explore and process thoughts, feelings and memories.
Integrative Therapy, which I use within my counselling sessions, makes use of a variety of psycho-therapeutic therapy rather than relying on style or modality. Elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) alongside more self reflective therapy such as humanistic and psychodynamic therapy. The client/therapist relationship is the key in integrative therapy and this would hugely benefit anyone looking for a supportive and creative therapist such as myself, a therapist who is able to work with their clients to get the most positive results.
Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a revolutionary treatment method that offers healing from physical and emotional pain. Without the use of needles, this form of accupunture uses the fingertips to stimulate energy points on the body. Developed by Gary Craig, this technique can be used anywhere. EFT works on tapping on accupressuemeridions to release blockages. When these blockages are released the problem feelings can be released and moved through the body.
EFT is a very effctive way of clearing out feelings and when an unwanted feeling has gone the limited belief the client held is released too. During my sessions I teach my clients the EFT sequence and method, giving them a life long tool to use whenever the need arises. This gives my clients the ability to continue their own healing whenever they feel the need for help.
Person Centred Art Therapy
I offer a range of services including Person Centred Art Therapy for my clients who wish to explore this way of working. This is not about a work of art but about tapping into the spontaneous part of oneself. This method of therapy can be a very releasing experience and a safe, supportive way to release strong emotion.
My clients who require my bespoke services now have the freedom to access my support on-line despite distance and accessibility from all around the world. This is a safe option and on-line counselling and hypnotherapy enables you to explore your issues from the workplace, a home setting or even a hotel room, working together in a clinical relationship to enable change.
As we now find ourselves prevented from non essential interaction due to Covid-19 rstrictions on-line counselling and hypnotherapy is a safe, effective method of support for clients both in the UK and Worldwide.
